Davey Legend
Davey Legend is a Los Angeles-based musician and Gen-Z digital native whose work explores personal struggles with relationships in a post-Web 2.0 world, where life is deeply intertwined with social media and digital interfaces. His music blends alternative pop with influences from emo, hip-hop, country, and hyper-pop, often featuring artwork and characters that personify his inner demons and anxieties.
Davey, Odd Duck Management, and I collaborated on three new song releases, where I directed the artwork, photography, illustration, motion, and design. Working closely with Davey, photographer Lance Skundrich, and other contributors, we developed visual concepts that reflect his vulnerable and contemplative lyrics about being in limbo, exploring emotional depth, and challenges with mental health.
The visual language features personifications of these internal tensions through scribbled or distorted “heads” on varied bodies, playing with the blurring of lines between digital avatars, AI-generated and real-world existence—internal and external presentations of self—illustrating how one's sense of identity can become lost in the mix.

The visual language features personifications of Davey’s internal tensions by using scribbled or distorted “heads” on varied bodies, distorted and obscured faces that play with blurring the lines between a digital self and the real world. Using both AI-generated and hand-drawn illustration styles, we reiterated this internal and external expression of his identity, torn and remixed in his complex world of lyrical emotions and vulnerability.
