LoveChild
LoveChild is an EP released by a husband-and-wife duo, both with their own careers in music, but finally creating a joint project together. I collaborated with LoveChild on their debut album packaging and artwork for a limited-run 12” record. As the lead creative director and art director, I aimed for the visuals to deeply resonate with the songs and the conceptual themes of the music.
For the artwork we focused on channeling your wilding. The art direction seeks to tell the story of feeling disconnected people in the modern world, with organic forms intertwined throughout the art to symbolize transformation and primal energy. The two figures are lost and unemotional yet find comfort with each other in their connection. We wanted the visuals to feel powerful yet peaceful in this yin and yang sensibility.

The design integrates their wordmark and delicate typography using modern serifs that often blend into floral and organic motifs. The color palette is cool, inspired by tones found at twilight just before the moon rises and accented by a key violet color. The record was released in the spring of 2020 along with several live stream shows.
